Yong Xuan's Chingay Reflection
Before going for the Chingay Parade, I thought it would be extremely boring. But after that, I realised I was wrong. I enjoyed a wonderful night that day as we partied all out to the loud music and mass displays of dances and floats. But what made me have the deepest impression was when I saw people of different races dancing the dance for another race. For example, I saw plenty of Malay and Indian dancers dancing for the Chinese dance performance. This showed me the unity in Singapore between each race. The Malays, Indians and the Chinese worked together to come up with a performance that all of us greatly enjoyed. The Chingay parade displayed many dances of different races that captivated me. The mass display of extravagant fireworks was also very beautiful. The floats on display was also very interesting and unique. Overally, I enjoyed the Chingay Parade a lot and should we have another chance to witness it again, I will be truly willing to do so.
